Company
Sittac Inc. was formed in 2004 as a privately owned company and specializes in providing software solutions to the linguistics community.

The name Sittac comes from Sitta canadensis, a bird also known as the Canada Nuthatch, which can be found in many parts of North America, including our home town of Calgary, throughout the year. Along with its attractive appearance and pleasing personality, the Canada Nuthatch is an enterprising species known for quickly scanning large trees working in a top-down fashion and finding food that other bottom-up tree foragers, such as the woodpecker, would miss.

Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer

Laura Marik holds a MSc degree in mathematics and brings to Sittac more than five years of professional experience in computer science-related fields. Prior to co-founding Sittac, Laura honed her skills as a graphics programmer at the Geological Survey of Canada and Avidyne Corporation.

David Dever

David Dever

Co-founder, Chief Technology Officer

With a BA in Mathematics and a BSc in Computer Science, David Dever brings more than six years of software development experience working on a wide range of development projects. Prior to co-founding Sittac, David was a team lead and senior developer for EFA Software.
